Every confirmed change to Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, X, WhatsApp and Threads — newest first, each with its source. Last updated May 13, 2026.
Instants lets you snap an unedited photo and send it to Close Friends or mutual followers with one tap. They live in the DM inbox (look for the small stack of photos) and recipients can view each one once. Your own Instants are kept in a private archive only you can see.
Some sponsored messages in your Chat tab can now be AI brand chatbots: you can ask them questions and get product recommendations without leaving Snapchat. They're ads, so they're labelled as sponsored.
